How to Make a Small Home Bigger

When a small home is made even smaller by a cluster of rooms, the logical design solution is to remove walls. Luckily none were load-bearing. Only one window was sacrificed in the merging of the entry, living room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast nook, and the results are stunning!

Our client is a serious cook and baker, and her new kitchen allows her to entertain in high style. To make the space more ergonomic we lowered the baking center 2”. Her mixer is housed in a cabinet that pops up for easy use.  Not to leave the family pets out of the new design, we created a feeding station at the end of the baking center (and out of the way) that hides when feeding is over.

The 9’ island with range top features a lowered eating bar, a 36” cooktop, microwave and spice pullouts and seats 6 comfortably!
